Gamefly
So, about a month ago, I purchased a Nintendo Wii. For full disclosure, I bought the Wii mostly because I wanted to be able to use the Wii Fit. Since I bought the thing, I thought I may as well try out some other games as well. Now, anyone who has a Wii or any other video game system knows that games can be expensive. That's why I like the idea of being able to rent them, just for the sake of trying something before I buy. I tried my local video rental place first, but they only have a small selection and charge a lot for video game rentals anyway. There's also Blockbuster, I guess, but the Blockbusters near me have been closing in droves, which shouldn't be surprising considering the chain just filed for bankruptcy protection (and while the article I just linked to says that they plan on keeping stores open while they reorganize, who knows if that reorganization is going to be successful). I never really liked Blockbuster anyway. So. I thought I'd try out Gamefly, a subscription based service in which video games get shipped to your door (think of it as Netflix for video games). It may be a little pricey, but it's still cheaper than my local place and has a huge selection. I'm mostly very happy with them so far.
Now, this may sound shameless, but if you'd like to try Gamefly out, I have an offer for you. Simply follow this link and get two months of Gamefly for the price of one. Once you sign up, you can get a free month for every friend you refer. Don't have a Wii? You can also rent games for other systems, including PS3, Xbox 360, DS, and more.
Yeah, I know. It's just that I could really use some free months worth of Gamefly or I might have to cancel. And that would make me sad.
